The couples app for comparing what you wantFree · no account

Find out what you both want.

You each answer the same list, alone, with yes, maybe or no. Then you see the overlap and nothing else. Nobody finds out what the other one turned down.

A no stays private.A maybe gets a second look.A yes only counts when there are two.

New · a space for two

Pair up once. Keep every list.

A single list needs a link each time. A space doesn't: you two pair up once, and from then on every list and everything you have in common is in one place for both of you. Still no account and no password.

How it works

  1. 01
You answer alone. One line at a time. Yes, maybe, or no. It takes a few minutes.
  2. 02
You send one link.By text, by email, however you two talk. There is nothing to install and no account to make.
  3. 03
They answer alone.Same list, their own answers. They never see yours.
  4. 04
You both see the overlap.Only the lines where neither of you said no. Everything else is gone for good.

What we keep to ourselves

  • Your answersThey are encrypted with a secret that only exists in your link. We can't read them, and neither can anyone with a copy of our server.
  • Your noIt is never shown, never counted, never hinted at. Not to your partner and not in a statistic.
  • Your accountThere isn't one. No sign-up, no password, no profile.
  • Your listIt deletes itself after 30 days. You can delete it sooner from the results page.

Questions people ask

What is OurMaybe?
OurMaybe is a free web app for couples that compares what two people want. Each person answers the same list in private with yes, maybe or no, and the page only shows the lines where neither said no.
Can my partner see what I said no to?
No. A no is never shown, counted or hinted at. Only the overlap is visible, and it is the same for both of you.
Do we need an account or an app?
No. OurMaybe runs in the browser. One of you starts a list and sends a private link; the other answers through that link. If you want to keep going, you can pair up once in a shared space that holds every list, still without an account. An iPhone app is planned.
What lists are there?
Seven so far: Date Night, Getaways, Movie Night, Dinner for Two, Out & Active, Books & Culture, and After Dark. After Dark is for adults and has three levels with 24, 74 or 109 lines; the others have 36 to 52 lines each.
What happens to our answers?
They are stored encrypted with a secret that only exists in your link or in your two browsers, so nobody else can read them, including us. A single list is deleted after 30 days. A shared space stays until one of you deletes it, or until nobody has opened it for a year.
Does it cost anything?
No. Every list on the site is free.
Does it work long-distance or for same-sex couples?
Yes to both. You answer on separate devices at separate times, and the lines are written without assuming anyone's gender.
